How to get Mobily Connect USB working on your OSX 10.5 كيفية جعل موبيلي كنكنت يعمل مع الماك

After several problems with STC using ADSL connection was up and down, I switched to Mobily Connect. I was told that Mobily connect do support Mac too. When I arrived home and open the box, tried to install the software and I was unable to dial out, the application crashes continuously. Exactly the same with my iMac. I tried calling the support, the support guy does not look like he used a Mac before and the same story in the local Mobily office. It looks like the shipped software does not support OSX 10.5.7. After waiting for 3 days, I decided to figure it out myself and things just worked perfect. Here is how to get it working

1. Go to http://www.three.co.uk/Home
2. Select “Help and Support”
3. Select “Mobile Broadband Help”
4. Select “Step-by-step guides”
5. Select “Installing your modem”
6. Select “I want to know how to install my modem”
7. Select your modem mine is ZTE MF637, however “ZTE MF627” worked for me
8. Select your OS for me its “ Apple Mac 10.5 (Leopard)
9. Download and install the software
10. Plug in your USB modem
11. Run the “3 Connect for MacOS X” from application folder
12. Select "Tools" -> "HSDPA/UMTS/GPRS" -> "Manage Profiles..."
13. Create a new profile with the following parameters
14. Click “Connect” and start browsing !

Do you own your information : Android phone as an example !

Here is my experience using Android phone. I am an Apple fan and *nix user since 15 years. A friend of mine recommended that I give Android a try looking into all the limitation of the iPhone in terms of 3rd party Apps. Also, I was having a bit hard time with my iPhone after upgrading to ISO 5 (the problem was fixed after updating to the next version). 

Back to our story, I bought Samsung SII and the first impression was great experience. The must feature I liked in Android is the sharing options thats built almost in every Apps with a lot of different services options. Also, I had major problem with the battery. The phone need to be connected the whole day to the charger.

I have noticed that Samsung is just syncing all the time with the different services that does not look to make sense, since Apple is only pushing the changes, it seems that Android is just syncing over and over whether there is change or not. My friend advised to let the sync be manual which eliminate the syncing feature in my point of view, social need to be real time. 

All of above is tolerant. What makes me really mad is when I installed an App called avast http://www.avast.com/free-mobile-security

After running the application I was shocked to see how many application is tracking my location, reading my contacts, sms, identity and others. Here is a snap shot of avast scan.

The above picture shows that 45 apps is tracking my location, 72 reading my identity, 19 accessing my SMSs and 42 accessing my contacts.

After finding this. I have decided to go back to my iPhone. Although, I could not find a similar application that can scan iPhone Apps to bring the results. You can control the Apps from tracking your locations and embed the location metadata in your photos.

From software business prospective, open source software is redefining several dimensions like the relations between customers and suppliers or the value chain, environmental forces and organizations business models. Open source software model can be regarded as collaborative-value-network which is introduced. Since the current business models can not represent the true picture of the open source software, a modified framework was suggested based on Rajala's software business model.

Privacy in the digital world: Towards international legislation

Abstract:

In today’s digital world, personal privacy has become the number one issue for consumers (Benassi, 1999). Consumers’ confidence in personal privacy is directly affecting and limiting the growth of Internet commercial development. Therefore, it is necessary to address the privacy concerns of consumers for the interests of all parties involved. Examples of the different ways of penetrating consumer privacy are reviewed. National and international efforts to formulate regulatory and self–regulatory programs to protect consumer privacy are examined. Different privacy enhancing technologies are treated. The problems of current national and international efforts to protect consumer privacy, including privacy enhancing technologies, are addressed. We conclude that international efforts are needed with a role for the United Nations (UN). The complexity and the multidimensional factors that affect our proposed international legislation are discussed.
